Royal Observatory, Madrid

This magnificent Palladian building was conceived by Juan de Villanueva, at the end of the 18th century fulfilling the order of King Carlos III who considered necessary the study of astronomy for its application to navigation. The visit will allow you to contemplate astronomy jewels such as the Foucault pendulum, the Repsold meridian circle or a replica of the 25-foot Willian Herschell Grand Telescope, dated 1804.
